The American Legion Birthday Celebration in conjunction with St. Patrick’s Day traditional corned beef & cabbage was a success with well over a hundred members being fed. Thanks to Paul Goetz and Past Commander Gronskei’s kitchen and serving crew. Also, the ladies furnishing the birthday cake, setting up the tables, cloths and appropriate center pieces , American flags, etc. Roger Hill, Laura & Gunner Roberts for posting and retiring the colors. The dinner was followed by our local Cindy & Dick Weber’s “Wells Fargo Band”. They did a fantatic job of holding the crowd up till & after midnight. Even Tommie and this old man danced till then. Hadn’t danced that much in 5 years.
Our 1st Vice, Keith Wilson & crew did the honors for Sat. Breakfast. The ALR’s took up much of the post Sat the 18th with their annual “Chris Nason Memorial Poker Run:, with the proceeds donated to the Widows Support Center. Headed by ALR’s Director Mata.
Don’t forget to vote for members who will support our post. Voting cutoff is 5:30PM on the 26th.
I hope you have all seen the picture in the Newspaper of our Color Guard supporting Becky Grahn “Singing the National Anthem” at Tucson’s Diamondback ball park. What an honor to have our own invited up there to do their thing and represent our post. A repeat performance was held on the 27th of March. “Way to go”
